What’s a cunt named MeMe?

“Cunty MeMe (pronounced MiMi) is a rebel, a warrior with vulnerability as their shield and their tongue as their sword,” the passionate artist explains. MeMe is nothing short of an enigma who can’t be boxed no matter how hard one tries, mostly because they’ll burn the box to a crisp and then cook your ass for trying to force them in said box. The Chicago artist pulls inspiration from the past while simultaneously showing listeners visions of the future. There’s nothing Cunty can’t do, with their delivery oozing confidence it is impossible not to fall in love with the artist. With a blistering mixtape and raging EP under their belt, Cunty is preparing for world domination, now’s the time to prepare to serve under your new ruler…Cunty MeMe.

in July of 2021, Cunty MeMe would drop “Blood Matrimony”...their magnum opus. A complete deviation in sound, presentation, and pathos, only strengthened their argument as one of the most flexible artists we’ve seen in this era. “I was always angry,” MeMe explains, “and I had to work hard to suppress it. The pandemic just reignited the flame that I had carefully been trying to manage…Unnecessary pain just puts me in a rage and not having the power to do anything fuels it.” Their Ep’s raw, dark and cuts right to the bone, with thumping production that will shake your soul. MeMe stretches their hands and adds yet another dimension to their already diverse catalog. In 2023, Cunty dropped all self-produced hits, including their hit single, ENEMY, a house drill track featuring raging and poignant bars that leave you in awe. They dominated stages at Chicago’s Pride Festival and Market Days Festival alongside incredible acts like CupcakKe, Bbymutha, Cookie Kawaii, Shea Coulee, pussy riot, and many more. “Sometimes you need an opposite equal force to push for change and this age and time for that is needed desperately NOW!” Cunty says. It doesn’t stop with music as the Chicago artist is stepping back into the Director’s chair as they’re looking to release a short film and of course, Our Highness is consistently working in fashion and modeling. Don’t get left behind, their Reign is just beginning.

“At the age of four or five, I decided I wanted to be a musician,” Cunty explains, “I loved to perform. I loved the applause. I loved the melodies, harmonies and the feeling I would get. From this point on, Cunty MeMe was studying music on multiple levels…as a child. Piano lessons, participating in the Chicago Children’s Choir and their genuine love for learning from other cultures all combine to bring us the artist we see today. It wasn’t all good though, “Growing up was beautiful and ugly,” MeMe recalls, “I was very aware of my mortality, classmates died, family etc…they have inspired me to live and continue to always be myself.” Our hero (or villain’s) origin story was complete, next up….world domination.

This world domination comes in the form of the diversity of music Cunty MeMe creates. In an era where the media can force artists into a lane, Meme looks to experiment with whatever feels right at the time. Their sound taps on a number of sounds and genres, “It’s raw and heavy, it’s sweet sometimes,” Cunty explains. “It’s Hip-Hop and all its cousins like Punk, Grunge, Rock, Blues, and Jazz.” Wearing their influences on their sleeve, being motivated by all kinds of people and cultures all came to a head in their debut album “Programming”. With this project Cunty came out swinging making it known that they own their career and are going to create what they please. With “Programming” Cunty demands your attention with an otherworldly versatility that can’t be denied. Cunty wasn’t done yet though.
